Matthew Sweeney

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws.

In his early years of practice Matt honed his litigation skills in the areas of criminal law acting for notorious criminals and rogues. From there Matt moved into more sophisticated areas of white collar crime and general commercial litigation.

He practices primarily in alternate dispute resolution and all areas of commercial litigation including the banking and finance, trade practices, insolvency and general commercial areas.

Matthews sporting background, as an elite Australian triple jump athlete gives Matt a good grounding and understanding for him to act in the sports law area, in particular for an AFL Club in all areas, from tussling with the AFL on sponsorship deals to advising on appearances at the AFL Tribunal.
