Intellectual Property
Intellectual Property is often the forgotten "asset" of a business as frequently it is not valued or does not appear on a company's balance sheet. We prefer to have a proactive approach to the protection and enhancement of intellectual property. This includes considering an overall strategic approach to registration, corporate structuring and licensing of intellectual property to protect corporation from means such as parallel importing and importation of counterfeit goods.
Protection
We advised on the structuring and commercialisation of the intellectual property for companies including a US multinational in the packaging industry, an international on line gambling business, an Australian multinational in the human resources service industry and the creation of an intellectual property trust for indigenous IP on behalf of a major tertiary institution.
Licensing
We advised a marketing and management company on a long term trademark and intellectual property licence from a major Australian University.
Audit or Identification and Forensic
We are undertaking an IP audit to identify a major client's intellectual property and providing advice on ways in which to quarantine and protect such intellectual property for future commercialisation and possibly separate equity participation.
